In the Bible it says this about Jesus, “And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.” (Colossians 1:18closeColossians 1:18 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. (ESV) )
Our vision, direction, purpose, and future are all driven by Jesus. He uses people like us who are influenced by his Holy Spirit to do it…but it’s his invention and from what we’ve learned, he’s got every intention of leading it.
Adam Bradshaw, Lead Pastor
Adam grew up surfing, skating, and playing tennis in sunny Daytona Beach, FL. He came to faith at a very young age, but by high school, was burnt by Christians and had lost interest in the church and its message. A move to Norfolk, VA during his senior year in high school led him to his wife, Perrin. One glance in typing class and he’s never quite recovered. God used her love without strings attached to restore Adam’s faith in Christ and the local church. Throughout their 17 years of marriage and ministry together, Adam and Perrin have done their best to meet people where they are, leading them toward a life long relationship with Jesus Christ.
Adam is known for his sense of humor and honesty in teaching and holds a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. He believes “it’s a sin to bore a kid” and their parents too. Adam and Perrin love to laugh with friends, eat great food, and do anything active and fun with their kids Luke, Zoë, and Lilly. They also have 4 deceased goldfish, post far too many pictures of their kids on Instagram, and had to first Google a “Buckeye” to learn what it was. Email Adam.
Joel Hardin, Associate Pastor
Joel never planned to become a Pastor, but God grabbed his heart while volunteering in a campus ministry. Joel spent many years pastoring a campus church at The Ohio State University before joining the Pastoral staff at Heritage Christian Church, and then at northchurch as it started in 2010. Joel holds a Master of Architecture degree and an MBA from the University of Illinois, and he worked as a licensed architect before transitioning to full time ministry. Now he works to draw up environments where people can know Jesus at a deeper level. Joel is currently working toward a Master’s degree and licensure in Christian Counseling to more effectively help people discover spiritual and emotional life in Jesus!
Joel and his wife, Edie, have been married 23 years, and they enjoy travel, summer walks, ethnic restaurants, board games, Downton Abby, and motorcycles (well… maybe just Joel on that last one). Their kids, Anisa, Jack, and Christian, keep life full with visits to Ohio University, sports, Boy Scouts and homework! Email Joel.

Brian is a full-time attorney at Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP with a focus on Commercial and Business Litigation and serves northchurch in a volunteer role. He has previously served in full-time ministry roles, most recently as the Executive Pastor at a large church in the Elyria, OH area. Brian’s education includes a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School, an M.Div. From Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a B.A. from Wheaton College. Northchurch is overseen by a Board of Elders. The Elders serve two functions in the church: governing (direction and doctrine) and shepherding (prayer and pastoral care). They strive to follow the Biblical model of the role and qualifications for Elders. The board works closely with the the pastoral team to discern and follow God’s direction for northchurch.
