Sundays
Church:
…it’s not a building or a meeting.
The first churches didn’t have property or Sunday service. They were people where were just together… hanging out, teaching each other what they knew about Jesus, worshipping and eating together, encouraging and praying for each other.
But the way they did life together turned the known world upside down. (When people really live in God’s Kingdom, it has a way of doing that.)
At northchurch, we don’t view our Sunday service as just a meeting. It’s a gathering of people connected in loving relationships that center on the love of Jesus.
CHURCH = PEOPLE
A true church can be just a few people meeting in a living room, or a few hundred people meeting in an elementary school. But a true church is shaped by Kingdom reality. The people are being changed by what God says is true about themselves, the world they live in, and mostly about Himself.
That’s what we hope will happen on Sunday mornings — as we worship, look at God’s Word, teach our kids, give our money, and catch up on each other’s lives—we invite God to reshape our lives to line up with the reality of His Kingdom.
And the coffee is a nice bonus too.
